These Terms govern the creation, authentication, restriction/ suspension, and deletion of the account ("Platform Account") created through Mozzamile's ("Company") shared authentication system, and set out the user's consent to the Company's collection and use of personal information in that process. These Terms also include general provisions governing use of this website (mozzamile.com).
Chapter 1. General
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and the user in connection with the Platform Account service and use of the website (mozzamile.com), and other necessary matters.
Article 2 (Effect and Amendment)
These Terms take effect by being posted on the Platform Account signup screen or otherwise announced to the user. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law; when it does, it will state the effective date and reason for the amendment and announce it on the website at least 7 days before the effective date (or at least 30 days before, for changes that are disadvantageous to the user or otherwise material).
Article 3 (Relationship to Other Terms and Policies)
These Terms govern the Platform Account itself. Use of an individual Service (MozzaRun, MozzaDok, FamLoop, and others) is governed by that Service's own Terms of Service, posted separately. Where these Terms and an individual Service's Terms conflict, these Terms govern matters relating to the account, and the Service's own Terms govern matters specific to that Service's functionality. The Company's overall personal data practices are separately disclosed in the Privacy Policy.
Chapter 2. Platform Account
Article 4 (Account Creation and Identity Verification)
A user may create a Platform Account by either of the following methods:
- Signup using an email address and password
- Signup using a social login provider account (Apple, Google)
The Company may verify the user's identity through email verification, the social login provider's own identity verification process, or similar means.
Article 5 (Social Login Integration)
When a user signs up with an Apple or Google account, the Company receives identifying information from that provider (the provider's name, the provider's user identifier, etc.) and links it to the Platform Account. Social login integration may be disconnected through the respective provider's account settings, or by requesting account deletion from the Company.
Article 6 (Consent to Collection and Use of Personal Information)
This Article is where the Company obtains the user's consent to the collection and use of personal information. The mandatory consent checkbox on the signup screen is consent to these Terms in their entirety, including this Article; by giving that consent, the user also consents to the collection and use of personal information described below. The Privacy Policy is a separate document that discloses the Company's overall personal data practices, independent of this consent.
a. Items Collected, by Signup Route
| Signup route | Items collected | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Social login signup (Apple / Google) | Login provider and the provider's user identifier (sub) Email address Name or username (including given and family name) | Provider, identifier, and email: necessary to perform the account-creation contract Name or username: consent to these Terms (an optional item) |
| Email signup | Email address Password (stored encrypted) | Necessary to perform the account-creation contract (the email signup route does not collect a name) |
b. Purposes of Collection and Use
- Account creation, identity verification, and sign-in (all items above)
- Password: verifying identity at sign-in
- Name or username: personalized display within the Services (e.g., greetings)
c. Retention and Use Period
The above personal information is retained and used until account deletion. However, records that must be separately preserved under applicable law (e.g., records to prevent fraudulent signup or use) are retained separately for the period required by that law, then destroyed.
d. Right to Refuse Consent, and the Consequences of Refusal
The user has the right to refuse consent to the above collection and use of personal information. However, refusing consent to the items essential to account creation (email address or social login identifier, and password for email signup) means a Platform Account cannot be created, and none of the Company's Services can be used. Refusing consent to the optional item (name or username) does not prevent account creation, but may limit certain personalization features that rely on it.
Article 7 (Restriction and Suspension of Account Use)
The Company may, after prior notice, restrict or suspend a user's account in any of the following cases. Where urgent action is required — such as a violation of applicable law, fraudulent use, or infringement of another's rights — the Company may act first and notify the user without delay afterward.
- Providing false information at signup, or using another person's information without authorization
- Infringing the rights of, or damaging the reputation of, another user or a third party
- Intentionally interfering with the operation of the Services
- Violating applicable law or these Terms
A user who disputes a restriction or suspension may delete their account under Article 8, or raise the dispute with the Company.
Article 8 (Account Deletion and Data Handling on Deletion)
A user may request account deletion at any time, through settings within a Service or by request to the Company, and the Company will process the request without delay unless applicable law requires otherwise. On deletion, the user's personal information is, in principle, destroyed without delay, except for information the Company must separately preserve under applicable law (e.g., records to prevent fraudulent signup or use, or consent history retained to respond to disputes), which is retained separately for the required period and then destroyed. Handling of usage records and content within an individual Service is governed by that Service's own Terms of Service.
